I have undertaken extensive newborn photography safety courses with more booked this year to keep up to date with recent poses and techniques. I have been a baby photographer for 10 years now and have many years of experience as a childminder previous to this. Your baby is in safe hands.

All newborn photographers should put the safety of the baby before anything else at all times.

Newborn sessions are best within the first 1-4 weeks. I prefer them to be around 2-3 weeks new. This is when babies are more sleepy and can be posed nicely without too much crying and awake time. Although I can consider newborns up to around 6 weeks new.

Most baby photography sessions take around 3-4 hours. For this reason I am now booking all newborn sessions over a 4 hour window. I book all newborn sessions in on a day on their own so there is no need to feel rushed.

During your newborn session sibling and family images are welcomed. I am also a family photographer and encourage these to be taken. I start with baby and add siblings in once baby is posed and sleepy, family images are taken at the end or your sibling/family ones can be arranged on another date so that the newborn session can be aimed just on baby, it is a long time for toddlers to wait so I’m happy to work with your family for the best way to plan your session.

Babies may need to stop to eat and be changed and settled so they need a lot more time and patience.

I like to use whites and a soft colour palette or very neutral colours, I have a varied collection to choose from which suit most peoples decor, my style is very light, bright and airy. My focus is more on your baby than props and bold colours.
